Nisrina Arija or commonly called Ninis is an active student of the class of 2023. She is currently in his 6th semester at the Department of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University. Even though she was busy with lectures, she consistently pursued the world of voice acting and often filled in big events until she won the national championship.
The Forerunner of Singing Talent
Little Ninis is 5 years old, arrived to enter a vocal course on the initiative of her mother. The mother had a specific reason behind the decision. She realized that her daughter liked to sing at any time, whether on the street or under other circumstances. Ninis’ mother hopes that her daughter’s talent can be more directed if she takes the course.
Elementary School Competition Becomes a Stepping Stone
Ninis dropped out of vocal courses when she entered elementary school. But once in the 3rd grade of elementary school, she represented the school in the 2014 FSL2N competition. Armed with self-taught training, Ninis exerted all her abilities. Unexpectedly, she brought home 2nd place at the West Java Province level. From this first competition, Ninis got more excited and tried other competitions.
Unforgettable Moments Appearing on the National Stage
“Gratefully, I was given the trust to represent the Bandung City Work Unit,” she said, expressing gratitude.
She managed to compete at the provincial level and continued the national stage competition. Efforts did not betray the results, Ninis won 3rd place at the national level in the Bintang Radio Indonesia vocal competition. This moment has a special place in Ninis’ heart. Not only when she won the championship, but also during the race where she was able to meet new families from various provinces.

- 2nd Place – FLS2N 2018 at the West Java Province level
- Bronze Medal – FLS2N 2021 National level
- 1st Place – 2022 Champion Student Governor’s Cup at the West Java Province level
- 1st Place – Bintang Radio Indonesia 2024 at the West Java Province level
- 1st Place – Indonesian Radio Stars 2024 at the National level
Singing = How to Communicate
Ninis said that in her opinion singing is the same as communicating. He can convey feelings to the audience from a song. Like the elements of communication, namely communicators. Both singers and listeners will feel the meaning of a song.
Challenges and Tricks to Face
It is impossible for one’s journey to be smooth from start to finish, there must be certain challenges. Again, how do we respond to it? Ninis herself still finds it difficult to control her mind and will meet people’s expectations. She tries to get around it by fighting the laziness of training, nervousness, and most importantly trying to give her best. Ninis’ trick to be confident when performing is to control the mind towards positive things,
“… convinced me that other people don’t care that much,” explained Ninis, giving an example.
Balance Between College and Career
Ninis realized that her ability to sing, indirectly, has given many advantages. Work that was originally considered a hobby, turned out to be able to entertain everyone and generate income for her. Even so, she still prioritizes education. The way to balance the two elements is to make the priority scale and time management right. For example, if there is a job offer for singing, she will consider it first with the lecture schedule so as not to clash.
Important Message: Don’t Waste Your Potential
Finally, Ninis gave a message for readers not to waste the opportunity. If there is an opportunity, just take it and live it. The existence of Ninis at this point is not spared from trying all the opportunities that exist. If you have talent, don’t hide it. Keep developing your potential, you will get the answer from there. She reminded again,
“Don’t forget to pray because prayer is important, everything we do must have God’s intervention.”
