The Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Padjadjaran (Ilkom Unpad) welcomes the nation’s brightest talents to become part of our academic community. In the admission process, Ilkom Unpad adheres to all regulations and procedures established by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the internal policies of Universitas Padjadjaran.

Prospective students may choose one of three main admission pathways to join Ilkom Unpad: two national-level pathways (SNBP & SNBT) and one independent pathway (SMUP). Below is a detailed explanation of each selection pathway:

1. Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Prestasi (SNBP)

This pathway is commonly known as the “Invitation Track.” SNBP is a selection process that evaluates students’ academic and non-academic achievements throughout their secondary education.

Assessment Focus: Academic report grades (semesters 1–5) and achievement portfolios (both academic and non-academic).
Advantages: Applicants are not required to take a written test. The selection is entirely based on their academic track record.
Access: Registration is conducted centrally through the official SNPMB (National Student Admissions Selection) portal.

2. Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Tes (SNBT)

For those who prefer a test-based pathway, SNBT is the appropriate option. This selection uses the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK), administered nationally.

Assessment Focus: UTBK test scores. The test includes the Scholastic Aptitude Test (TPS), literacy in Indonesian and English, and mathematical reasoning. It emphasizes logical and analytical skills rather than subject memorization.
Eligibility: Open to current-year graduates as well as gap-year applicants (in accordance with annual SNPMB regulations).
Access: Similar to SNBP, registration and score information are available through the official SNPMB website.

3. Seleksi Mandiri Universitas Padjadjaran (SMUP)

This is an independent admission pathway organized autonomously by Universitas Padjadjaran. SMUP provides additional opportunities for applicants who were not admitted through national pathways or who wish to explore alternative options.

Assessment Focus: The selection method may vary each year (commonly based on SNBT UTBK scores or an independent online examination administered by Unpad). Applicants are strongly advised to stay updated with the latest regulations.
Access: All registration, payment, and examination processes are managed directly by Unpad through the official website: smup.unpad.ac.id.
