Research Mindedness 2026 of Communication Science Highlights the Issue of Early Marriage

The phenomenon of rampant child marriage cases in the digital era is the main discussion of the Unpad Communication Sciences Remind 2026 competition. The Communication Science Student Association of Padjadjaran University successfully held an international competition under the auspices of Epicentrum Fikom Unpad on May 20, 2026. The event, which took place at the Fikom Unpad Campus, challenged participants to design communication strategies to solve social issues in the community.

Erasing the Narrative of Child Marriage in the Digital Age

The theme of this competition is “Reshaping the Narrative: Innovative Communication Strategies to Eradicate Child Marriage in the Digital Era“. The committee chose this theme because of the rampant misconception about child marriage. A lot of information in the digital space can be damaging to the younger generation.

Another bad impact is that this issue can indoctrinate a person to get married at an early age. Therefore, the Communication Science Student Association of Padjadjaran University held this competition as a forum to build critical thinking and create creative innovations.

Review Communication Strategy at Remind 2026

The participants must pass two mandatory stages to complete the challenge. These stages include writing research papers and making educational videos. Each team is required to develop a research-based communication strategy.

Each work must show creativity, critical thinking, and depth of analysis in removing the narrative of child marriage. All works from the Unpad Communication Sciences Remind 2026 competition are proven to have very good quality, applicability, and innovation.

Project Officer of Remind 2026, Mardiyah Fitri, was proud of the achievements of all participants. In her view, the participants were able to develop research in collaboration with various institutions.

“There is one idea that interests me, which is to involve the role of teachers as a strategy against child marriage,” said Mardiyah. She added that many people consider the role of a teacher to be a common thing, but it has a big impact on their students. Moreover, students at the junior high and high school levels experience many cases of child marriage.

Unpad Narakarsa Team Wins First Place in Remind 2026

The announcement of the winner brought joy to the big family of Communication Sciences Unpad. The Narakarsa team, a representative of the Communication Science Study Program Unpad, successfully secured the first place position. Not only that, this team also won the Best Presentation award.

This achievement proves the excellence possessed by the students of the Communication Science Study Program Unpad. A series of other universities also managed to take home awards for their hard work. The team from Universitas Airlangga won the second place position.

Other Unpad representatives also managed to secure the third place position. All of these achievements show that the ideas of the participants are ready to make a real contribution.

Mardiyah hopes that each participant can feel happiness in the process of working throughout the competition. More than that, Mardiyah also hopes that this competition is expected to encourage participants to also become agents of change. The younger generation also needs to contribute to changing the wrong narrative around child marriage in society.
