On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, National Communication Conference, Media, and Information (KMI) 2024 titled “Public Participation in Development and Democracy in the Digital Age” was held at Pascasarjana Auditorium, Faculty of Communication Science Universitas Padjadjaran. This event was divided into two sessions, which were the plenary session and the parallel session from 08.00 am to 04.00 pm WIB. The aim of this event was to give researchers the opportunity to share and discuss their own research.
In the plenary session, S. Kunto Adi Wibowo, Ph.D as a Communication Science lecturer, gave a seminar titled “Framing Analysis of ‘Peringatan Darurat’”. Kunto mentioned that the social movement that happened on “peringatan darurat” was based on the public’s sense of concern regarding Indonesia’s condition at that time. He also appealed to the public and students to continue to be vigilant and aware of our country’s politics, not just an enthusiasm at the moment. In addition, Kunto stated that the existence of public figures who were aware of “peringatan darurat” such as Reza Rahadian, Najwa Shihab, Kiky Saputri, and Bintang Emon, had a great impact on the escalation of the issue.
In the parallel session, several topics were discussed, namely: (1) Digital transformation and media regulation; (2) Communication and social change; (3) Health communication in the digital era; (4) Crisis communication and public issues management; (5) Political communication and public policy; (6) Media, culture, and democracy in the digital era.
