The Communication Science Study Programme of Universitas Padjadjaran marked a new history of leadership. On Friday, December 06, 2024 the appointment of the new Head of Communication Science Study Programme (kaprodi) was held. The event took place at Building 1 Faculty of Communication Science Universitas Padjadjaran. This appointment was made as a part of interim replacement after the previous Head of Communication Science Study Programme, Dr. Nindi Aristi, M.Comn., was appointed as the Marketing Director of Universitas Padjadjaran.
At this event, S. Kunto Adi Wibowo, Ph.D. was officially appointed as the Head of Communication Science Study Programme. Kunto, who was initially a lecturer of the Communication Science Study Programme, had an outstanding track record on communication, media, and culture. Previously, Kunto served as Head of the Center for Communication, Media, Culture and Information Systems Studies, Faculty of Communication Science Universitas Padjadjaran. During his leadership, Kunto will continue the previous Head of Communication Science Study Programme’s vision, as a result of mutual agreement with other lecturers. Furthermore in his leadership plan, he emphasized on strengthening alumni relations.
“… the second one, we also would like to do some kind of good networking with alumni, since one of the keys to an educational institution’s success is the alumni. We would like to encourage all fellow students, student association (Hima) especially to build a good connection with alumni” he said.
S. Kunto Adi Wibowo, Ph.D. committed to developing the curriculum and conducting in-depth evaluations, either practically or theoretically. Kunto stated several challenges that the study programme is facing, such as the relatively small number of lecturers, the accuracy of undergraduate studies, and connections with alumni. Kunto hoped that with the planned efforts along with the existing opportunities, the Communication Science Study Programme that is in line with his vision can be accomplished.
