October 28 is a date that contains values of struggle, unity, and nationalism for Indonesians. This is because of an important event that happened on October 28, 1928, namely the Second Youth Congress. On said event, young Indonesian men and women gathered to discuss and to strengthen the union. The meeting produced an oath known as “The Youth Pledge.”
According to the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the theme of the 96th Youth Pledge Day in 2024 carries a strong message of synergy and collaboration for the youth in Indonesia, namely “Maju Bersama Indonesia Raya (Move Forward With The Great Indonesia)”. This theme shows the importance of cooperation of all elements of the nation to achieve Indonesia’s future glory and build a resilient and visionary generation internationally. This year’s celebration embraces Indonesian youths to prioritize solidarity and collaboration between communities and groups in creating new achievements for Indonesia.
The 96th Youth Pledge commemoration this year is expected to be a moment for the young generation to unite and work together in reaching various achievements, both nationally and internationally.
