To extend a closer welcome to our Yellow Fellows, the Head of the Communication Science Student Association, Defrio, offers his warm greetings to the new students.
Learning is an endless process.
Learning knows no boundaries.
Learning is about the process itself.
Do not close your eyes, ears, or mouth to the knowledge you will gain in Communication Science.
It’s not just about learning from books and your course materials.
It’s not merely what is outlined in your study plan.
Learn from everything, just as the wise Minangkabau people say, “Nature serves as a teacher.” (Alam Takambang Jadi Guru.)
Learn the content of the material.
Learn how the lecturers deliver it.
Observe how we manage our time.
Notice how we carry out our activities consistently.
Take everything you can, apply everything you can.
Because, once again, university is not just about studying the syllabus.
University is not just about chasing good grades.
University is a place where great minds gather, making it a place where even greater minds are born.
Through his welcome address, Defrio hopes to inspire the new students to remain dedicated and work hard to continually gather as much knowledge as possible. (Ed)
