Press Release: Visit from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara for a Comparative Study on International Program Preparation

On April 29, 2025, the Communication Science Studies Programme at Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) welcomed a visit from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) as part of a comparative study to prepare for the launch of their own International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Communication Science.

The visit took place at the Faculty of Communication Sciences (Fikom) Unpad and was attended by lecturers from both institutions. Representing Unpad were Kunto Adi Wibowo, Ph.D., Head of the Communication Science Study Program, IUP Coordinator Andika Vinianto Adiputra, M.A., and other faculty members. From UMN, the delegation was led by Cendera Rizky Anugrah Bangun, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of UMN’s Communication Science Program, along with her colleagues.

The main agenda of the meeting was an in-depth discussion on the implementation of Unpad’s IUP, which serves as a reference for UMN as they prepare to launch their own. Key topics included curriculum design, student profiles, partnerships with international universities, student mobility logistics, teaching methods, and supporting facilities.

According to Andika, IUP Coordinator at Unpad, the visit was not part of a formal institutional collaboration but was purely a knowledge-sharing initiative. He emphasized the importance of such visits, especially as Indonesian universities routinely update their curricula every five years, including for international programs.

“We truly appreciate this visit. We hope UMN’s plan to establish an IUP can be realized soon. For us at Unpad, exchanges like this are valuable, especially since the IUP is still relatively new. We greatly benefit from ongoing dialogue and idea sharing with other universities to help this program grow and become a flagship initiative in the future,” he said.

This meeting highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange between Indonesian higher education institutions, particularly in strengthening international education programs to meet global challenges. [Ed]
