Final Exams Are Around the Corner, Stay Spirited and Prepare Yourselves! Even Semester 2024/2025 Academic Year

The Final Semester Examination week has arrived, and Communication Science students at Universitas Padjadjaran are once again gearing up to face various academic challenges at the end of this semester. From creative projects and presentations to written exams, everything becomes a platform to showcase the results of their learning throughout the entire semester.

To welcome this moment, we spoke with student representatives from various year levels to find out how they’re preparing. Let’s take a look at their strategies!

Nabiilah Putri Mahnita – Communication Science 2024
“This UAS (Final Exam) heavily relies on projects, so I’m leveraging interactive learning and group discussions as my main weapons,” Nabiilah shared. “For some written exams, I use an auditory learning strategy, like recording myself reading the material and then listening to it again,” she explained.
She also highlighted the importance of discussions, even stating that their contribution reaches 70-80%. “I understand better when I hear explanations.”
Her most challenging course? Cross-Cultural Communication. “We have to design a festival and collaborate across different programs, which is a big challenge in terms of time management and teamwork.”

Annisa Rahmadini – Communication Science 2023
For Annisa, the key to success in project-based UAS is total dedication in contributing. “I try to be active, like being a group leader or a person in charge, so I can give my best effort,” she said.
Discussions also play an important role. “I’m not shy about asking questions or admitting I don’t understand, so discussing with friends is crucial.”
The most challenging course for her is Content Analysis Methods. “It’s not because it’s difficult, but because I’m challenged to be able to submit a journal. That’s a personal target.”

Christine Adriani – Communication Science 2022
Christine admitted that she has to be careful in managing her time because all the UAS project deadlines are close to each other. “Prioritize the earlier ones and adjust according to the group schedule.” To support discussions, she diligently re-reads her notes so that the work remains relevant to the material.
Group discussions are an inseparable aspect. Even for individual assignments like Kapita Selekta Komunikasi, she still discusses to gain insights. “Kapita Selekta is a challenge because it directly connects to my thesis, and I’m also taking Seminar. So I have to maximize my effort.”

Stay Spirited, Yellow Fellow!
Exams are indeed challenging, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be conquered. Let’s stay spirited, maintain your health, and give your best! [Ed]
