Hello, Communication Science students!
We express our gratitude and praise to the Almighty God for the delightful news that the Communication Science Study Programme, Faculty of Communication Science, Padjadjaran University, has obtained certification for international accreditation from AQAS directly on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, in Oemi Abdurrahman Room, Faculty of Communication Science, Padjadjaran University. AQAS or Agency for Quality Assurance is a non-profit educational accreditation institution under German law. This German-based institution provides services to conduct fair and transparent assessment procedures for higher education study programmes based on European Standards and Guidelines. The Communication Science Study Programme strives to obtain this accreditation to achieve the vision of Padjadjaran University, which is “Achieving a World-Class and Impactful University for Society.”
The initiation of the Communication Science Study Programme to participate in the international accreditation preparation grant competition held by the Directorate of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in 2021 was the beginning of the study programme’s journey towards obtaining AQAS accreditation. After going through a long process, the Communication Science Study Programme successfully obtained the grant. As the grant recipient, the faculty then formed a special team tasked with preparing and fulfilling all the requirements and procedures needed to apply for international accreditation to AQAS in mid-2021. The team consisted of lecturers and staff from the Faculty of Communication Science, with the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Science as the responsible party who directly coordinated with the Head of the Faculty of Communication Science Internationalization Unit. For the Communication Science Study Programme, several lecturers were part of this special team, including Nindi Aristi as the Head of Communication Science Study Programme, as well as Benazir Bona Pratamawaty, Ikhsan Fuady, Preciosa Alnashava Janitra, and Sarah Aisha.
The special team that has been formed is responsible for preparing all the necessary documents for the accreditation process for 7 study programmes at the Faculty of Communication Science. After the process of preparing documents, infrastructure, and suprastructures for approximately 2 years, finally, on May 31st to June 2nd, 2023, the Faculty of Communication Science received a visit from AQAS assessors’ team. On December 4th, 2023, AQAS provided conditional accreditation for 7 study programmes at the Faculty of Communication Science, including the Bachelor (S1) of Communication Science Study Programme, which was followed by the physical certificate ceremony on February 1st, 2024. The accreditation certificate will be valid until December 31st, 2029. Hopefully, through this international accreditation, the Communication Science Study Programme of Padjadjaran University can increase its credibility and generate competitive international programs in both regional and global scopes.
