Indonesia is one of the countries with a high level of disaster vulnerability because it is located in the Ring of Fire area. This geographical location makes Indonesia vulnerable to various disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, and landslides. The high frequency of disaster events is a reminder of the importance of preparedness for the entire community.

Disaster preparedness can start with simple steps that are carried out consistently, including:

  • Recognizing potential disasters in the surrounding environment
  • Developing evacuation plans and family gathering points
  • Preparing disaster preparedness bags (important documents, medicines, emergency food)
  • Participating in disaster education and simulation
  • Monitor official information from the government and related agencies

These measures can help minimize risk and improve the ability to act quickly when a disaster occurs.

Preparedness is not only an individual responsibility, but also a shared commitment. Let’s increase awareness and readiness to face disasters starting from ourselves, family, to the surrounding environment. Let’s realize a disaster-resilient Indonesia.
