Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi, ISSN 2303-2006 (Printed), ISSN 2477-5606 (Online), is published by the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with the Indonesian Communication Scholars Association (ISKI). Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi (JKK) is published biannually, in June and December. For each issue, both internal and external editors of Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi review the submitted scholarly articles. Subsequently, at least two reviewers with relevant expertise evaluate the manuscripts through a double-blind peer review process. Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi then publishes selected articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi was first published in December 2012 by the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. The first print edition was issued in June 2013. Meanwhile, the journal began using an Online Journal System (OJS) in June 2016. Therefore, the journal has republished its issues from June 2013 to December 2015.

Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi has been accredited at SINTA 2 level by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMDIKBUDRISTEK RI), based on Decree No. 164/E/KPT/2021.
