On Monday, March 18, 2024, the new cabinet of the Communication Science Student Association (Hima Ilkom) and the Student Representative Council of Communication Science (DPM Ilkom) at Universitas Padjadjaran for the 2024 term was launched. The event began with a speech from the Chairman of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Communication (BEM Fikom) Universitas Padjadjaran, Gading Tamma Fadillah, followed by remarks from the 2023 Hima Ilkom Universitas Padjadjaran Chairman, Kevin, and the 2024 DPM Ilkom Universitas Padjadjaran Chairman, Andi Rasyid Wirabuana, and was officially opened by the 2024 Hima Ilkom Universitas Padjadjaran Chairman, Defrio Saka Wahid. After the speeches, there was a presentation of the company profile, an explanation of the cabinet’s meaning, vision, mission, introduction of all divisions, and work programs of Hima Ilkom 2024. Following a break for rest and breaking the fast together, the event continued with the introduction of the DPM Ilkom Universitas Padjadjaran cabinet, following the same process as the Hima Ilkom introduction.
Leading with enthusiasm, Defrio Saka Wahid (Chairman) and Marcella S. Ginting (Vice Chairman) head this year’s Hima Ilkom Cabinet, christened “Arunipraya.” Arunipraya, a name derived from the Sanskrit words Arunika and Abhipraya, symbolizes a beacon of hope and new beginnings, with Arunika representing the dawn and Abhipraya embodying hope, desire, and goal. This title was specifically chosen to reflect the cabinet’s aspiration for a positive fresh start, promoting values of communication, bureaucracy, adaptability, and discipline.
Furthermore, the inauguration of the new Hima Ilkom cabinet commemorates a decade of Hima Ilkom’s journey as a nurturing ground and a beacon of hope, echoing Defrio’s opening remarks at the event. He expressed a desire for the Arunipraya Cabinet to act as a guiding light of hope, underscoring the importance of this milestone anniversary.
Similarly, the 2024 DPM Ilkom Cabinet, under the leadership of Andi Rasyid Wirabuana and Vice Chairman Muhammad Faqih Azhar, is named “Prabasvara” Parliament, a name that signifies brilliance and readiness for innovation, derived from the Sanskrit word “Prabhaswara.” This nomenclature reflects the parliament’s commitment to pioneering breakthroughs and externalizations, aiming for the prosperity of Hima Ilkom Universitas Padjadjaran in its third legislative year. The DPM’s structure, comprising four commissions, underscores its multifaceted approach to governance and student welfare.
Moreover, Andi’s aspirations for the DPM Hima Ilkom Prabasvara Parliament emphasize smooth operations across all commissions and a nurturing environment for personal growth and closer inter-member relations. He envisions the DPM as a role model for departments across Fikom and Universitas Padjadjaran, aligning with the DPM’s motto that Hima Ilkom’s success is intrinsically linked to DPM’s achievements, especially in its tenth year.
Additionally, the launch event was a moment of collective hope and anticipation for a fruitful year ahead for Hima Ilkom. Preciosa Alnashava Janitra S.I.Kom., M.Si., representing the faculty’s Working Group (POKJA) lecturers, shared her hopes for the successful execution of planned programs and for Hima Ilkom to serve as a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, collaboration, and positive impact among Communication Science students. She also emphasized the importance of synergistic collaboration and continual improvement to align with the cabinet’s objectives.
In conclusion, we extend our congratulations to both the Hima Ilkom Arunipraya Cabinet and the DPM Ilkom Prabasvara Parliament. Their leadership and vision pave the way for a significant and positive impact in the year to come, fostering growth, innovation, and unity within the Universitas Padjadjaran community.
